The city walls of the medina stretching as far as the eye can see, palm trees, La Koutoubia and behind it the Atlas Mountains; we couldn’t have asked for a better view from the rooftop restaurant of Nobu in Marrakech. If you’re talking about enchanting views… this is where history and heritage meet contemporary flair.
The rooftop of the Nobu Hotel, which opened in 2023, offers 360-degree views and features a circular pool, a terrace with lounge beds and a bar area (including a sushi bar). There are performances by international DJs as well as local artists. As the sun slowly sets, we’re treated to several performances by African dancers moving gracefully between the tables and around the pool. It’s quite the touristic setting, but Nobu is after all an international hotspot for the right and famous. So if you’re in for a festive & fun night, this is your go to spot.

We order our first cocktails and ask Nobu manager as well as artist/influencer Tarik Artiba about his favorite dishes from the Mediterranean-meets-Moroccan menu. My Frozen Mangue cocktail contrasts slightly with my Tajine de Coquelet, but up here on the rooftop terrace those two worlds come together beautifully. It’s late April, so there’s still a slight chill in the air, but even in Marrakech they’re prepared for cooler evenings. With heaters and blankets, we later settle comfortably into the sofas by the bar on the ground floor.

At Nobu there’s a constant arrival of well-dressed, international guests (for all fashion lovers out there: there’s a Louis Vuitton store right next to the Nobu entrance). Some are staying at the Nobu Hotel itself, while the beige Marrakech taxis arrive and depart continuously, even on a Tuesday! The Nobu Hotel Marrakech is perfectly located in the chic ‘Golden Triangle’, just a stone’s throw from the charming historic heart of the city, the souks, the vibrant medina and Djema el-Fna square. There are 71 suites, three swimming pools, a spa, a fitness center, and the Nobu restaurant indoors with its outstanding Japanese cuisine, serving Black Cod Miso, Rock Shrimp Tempura, and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño.

If you’re looking for luxury and modern vibes, while still wanting to truly experience the sultry energy of Marrakech, this is the place to be. A must-visit and surely a place we can highly recommended for couples on a date night!
